On the evening of August 10, 2024, the East Hampton Library celebrated its landmark 20th Annual Authors Night under the expansive tent at Herrick Park field. This illustrious event brought together over 100 distinguished authors, delighting literary enthusiasts who gathered from near and far. The reception kicked off at 5 PM, where attendees mingled with literary giants like Neil deGrasse Tyson, Robert A. Caro, and Diana Nyad, securing autographs and engaging in stimulating discussions. Guests savored exquisite hors d’oeuvres and fine wines, setting the tone for an evening of rich cultural exchange. Following the reception, intimate dinner parties hosted in private homes offered unique opportunities for deeper interactions with featured authors, further enriching the experience. The event not only celebrated two decades of literary excellence but also supported the library’s mission to provide free, essential programming to the community. With each book signed and story shared, the 20th Authors Night underscored the vibrant spirit of the East Hampton literary community.
