On the evening of August 9th, the grounds of Common Ground East transformed into a vibrant hub of philanthropy and music for the “Concert for a Cause,” benefiting NYC Second Chance Rescue. The event, dedicated to supporting rescue pets, kicked off at 6:30 PM with guests arriving to a flurry of camera flashes during Pawparazzi Photo Time. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as DJ DIMATTEO set the tone with electrifying beats, leading up to a delicious buffet provided by Little Charli’s.
The highlight of the night came when Alexa Ray Joel was honored for her contributions to animal welfare, followed by an electric performance by Fat Joe, which had everyone on their feet dancing and singing along. As the evening wound down, the crowd enjoyed gelato and desserts, with music lingering in the background till 10:00 PM.
This memorable night not only celebrated community and compassion but also raised significant funds for NYC Second Chance Rescue, helping to save the lives of large breed dogs and critically ill animals. The event underscored the community’s commitment to giving these animals a second chance, making it a truly impactful gathering.
