Haiti Air Ambulance Holds First Hamptons Reception

On the evening of August 17th, the serene estate of Ken and Maria Fishel in Bridgehampton became the backdrop for the Haiti Air Ambulance’s (HAA) first reception in the Hamptons, titled “Saving Lives from the Sky in Haiti.” This landmark event aimed to raise awareness and support for Haiti Air Ambulance’s critical service, which has been instrumental in providing air medical transport to the most vulnerable populations in Haiti since 2014.

The reception featured an enlightening introduction by HAA Founder Pat Dolan, followed by speeches from internationally renowned author and philanthropist Mitch Albom, and Dr. Eric Cioè-Peña of Northwell Health, each highlighting the challenges and impacts of delivering emergency medical services in Haiti’s complex landscape. Chief Flight Physician Dr. Wesner Jacotin shared compelling stories from the front lines, illustrating the profound difference HAA makes in the lives of thousands, including pregnant mothers and newborns.

Notable attendees included public figures, healthcare professionals, and philanthropists such as Elisa DiStefano, Assemblywoman Rebecca Seawright, and media personality Jerry Kremer, demonstrating the wide-ranging support for HAA’s mission. The event not only celebrated the advances in healthcare logistics but also reinforced the ongoing need for support to sustain and expand these life-saving services.

This special evening underscored the community’s commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts and marked a significant moment in Haiti Air Ambulance’s history, paving the way for future initiatives to enhance healthcare accessibility and emergency response in Haiti.
