The Southampton Playhouse officially opened its doors this past weekend, marking a new era for film enthusiasts in the Hamptons. The inaugural screenings featured Captain America: Brave New World and Paddington in Peru, drawing a lively audience eager to experience blockbuster entertainment in the newly renovated theater.
The event welcomed several notable attendees, including Executive Director Maria Ruiz Botsacos, Artistic Director Eric Kohn, Board Member Jack Heller, Southampton Mayor William Manger Jr., Deputy Mayor Leonard Zinnanti, and Trustee Robin Brown. Guests celebrated the launch of the Playhouse’s IMAX capabilities — the first of its kind in the Hamptons — offering an immersive viewing experience that set the tone for future screenings.
The weekend’s film lineup was a major draw, with Captain America: Brave New World making a strong box office debut and Paddington in Peru capturing hearts with its charming story.
