On Monday, August 25, 2025, The Center at West Park (CWP) hosted a one-night-only staged reading of All The President’s Men, directed by John Benjamin Hickey. The extraordinary evening featured a powerhouse cast including Robert Downey, Jr., Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Stephen Adly-Guirgis, Maddie Corman, Spencer Garrett, Kenneth Lonergan, J. Smith-Cameron, Ramy Youssef, and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, with additional surprise appearances throughout the night.
The performance drew a sold-out audience, reflecting the passion, generosity, and commitment of the cast and creative team to both the arts and the mission of the Center at West Park. Funds raised will support the preservation of the historic West Park Presbyterian Church, a landmark building and vital hub for community, arts, culture, and sacred space in New York City.
With support from a Host Committee that included Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Hamm, Kenneth Lonergan, Mark Ruffalo & Sunrise Coigney, Fisher Stevens, J. Smith-Cameron, and others, the event underscored the cultural and social significance of protecting one of the city’s last remaining inclusive and accessible performing arts spaces.
The staged reading not only celebrated the enduring relevance of All The President’s Men but also demonstrated the power of art to unite, inspire, and advocate for meaningful causes.
