On Monday, October 27th, the Center at West Park presented a special staged reading of Kenneth Lonergan’s acclaimed play Hold On to Me Darling at The Sanctuary at St. Paul & St. Andrew in New York City.
The event brought together an extraordinary cast including Alec Baldwin, Matt Damon, J. Smith-Cameron, Charles Everett, Peter Friedman, Lucas Hedges, and Gretchen Mol, who brought Lonergan’s moving script to life. Following the performance, director Neil Pepe joined the cast for a post-reading discussion moderated by Lonergan himself.
The reading was part of the Center at West Park’s fall benefit series, supporting efforts to preserve the historic landmarked church and prevent its demolition. Guests were reminded of the organization’s ongoing mission to protect cultural and artistic spaces in New York City.
