The Parrish Art Museum, in collaboration with The FLAG Art Foundation, is thrilled to announce a new initiative: FRESH PAINT. This innovative project spotlights the latest works by both emerging and established artists.
Launching June 8, 2024
FRESH PAINT will debut on June 8, 2024, featuring a rotating series of single-artwork exhibitions in the Creativity Lounge, free to the public. The inaugural installation showcases a multi-layered piece by artist Lauren Halsey, on view from June 8 through August 25, 2024.
A Responsive Approach
FRESH PAINT circumvents traditional, years-long exhibition planning, allowing the Parrish and FLAG to promptly respond to cultural events and showcase freshly created artworks. This approach fosters timely dialogue between the Museum, visitors, and the community.
Educational Impact
Beyond exhibitions, FRESH PAINT extends its reach through educational initiatives like ARTscope. This teen-focused program offers participants an in-depth exploration of the visual arts, career pathways, and practical museum experience. Students will write blogs, curate small exhibitions, and gain valuable skills, all while earning a stipend.
