Rogers Memorial Library launched its 2024 Revitalization Campaign with a vibrant community open house on Saturday, November 9, marking a significant milestone in its 25-year history at the current location. The event welcomed families, local officials, and special guests, including Southampton Mayor Bill Manger, Jr. and renowned journalist Chuck Scarborough, who both spoke passionately about the library’s exciting future.
Library Director Liz Burns, Foundation Board President George Crawford, and trustee Jim Gray shared inspiring details about the upcoming improvements, focusing on inclusivity, technology, and expanded community spaces. Guests of all ages enjoyed arts and crafts, face painting, and treats from Scotto’s pizza truck and an ice cream truck, adding to the joyful atmosphere.
The revitalization plans feature significant upgrades, including a new tech lab, private study rooms, expanded teen programming, improved accessibility, and a brand-new café with an outdoor patio. These updates aim to transform the library into a dynamic community hub for residents of all ages, continuing its legacy of fostering knowledge and creativity.
