Southampton Village recently hosted a dynamic gathering of local business and community leaders at Claude’s Restaurant at the Southampton Inn. The event, held this fall, aimed to strategize ways to transform Southampton into an “All-Season” destination, strengthening the local economy and supporting businesses, nonprofits, and cultural institutions.
Mayor Bill Manger joined prominent voices such as Kristen Reynolds of Discover Long Island, Ian Duke of Southampton Social Club/Union Burger, Julie Ratner of the Ellen Hermanson Foundation, Wendy Pearson from Stony Brook University, and Stephanie Bitis of Dan’s Papers. Together, they discussed Village improvements, upcoming events, and initiatives like the reopening of Southampton Cinema and celebrations for Veteran’s Day and the Thanksgiving Parade. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks while exchanging ideas on showcasing Southampton’s beauty and vibrancy beyond the traditional summer season.
The event underscored the importance of creating a sustainable year-round economy, with innovative campaigns like Discover Long Island’s marketing effort extending Southampton’s appeal to visitors and locals alike. From Times Square billboards to LIRR train ads, the initiative promotes Southampton as a cultural and natural hub for fall and winter activities.
